能源是国民经济的重要基础产业，是促进经济持续快速健康发展和提高人民生活水平的重要保障。进入“十一五”，区域经济发展迅猛。随着东部、中部、西部良性互动的区域发展新格局全面展开，一个新的区域——海峡西岸经济区，备受海内外瞩目。
与此同时，中央各部委办也积极支持海峡西岸经济发展。海西写入国家“十一五”规划纲要，海峡西岸经济区在全国区域经济布局中的战略地位更为突出，成为国家战略支持的重点区域。
　　国家电网公司也全力支持福建“十一五”电力建设规划布局，推动福建与周边省份联网，为电源项目建设和参与区域电力资源优化配置创造条件，保证福建电力“送得上、落得下、用得上”。2006年4月，国家电网公司与福建省政府签署协议，将在“十一五”期间，安排投资550亿元建设和改造福建电网，打造海峡西岸坚强电网。
电力工业是支撑国民经济和社会发展的基础产业，是能源工业的重要组成部分，关系国民经济命脉和社会稳定，是实现全面小康社会发展目标，构建社会主义和谐社会的重要基础。海峡西岸经济区的发展也离不开电力等基础设施的建设和发展为经济的发展提供强劲的动力。
　　福建两大核电站的开工和建设，是落实中央支持海峡西岸经济发展的重大举措，是海西建设全面推进的重大成果，对于贯彻国家能源政策、缓解东南沿海地区电力和能源运输的压力、促进福建经济社会和环境可持续发展具有重要意义
　　通过举办此次展会给制造商、销售商、采购商及业内人士提供一个展示、交易和贸易的平台，为国家的经济建设提供优质的产品和技术设备等。

Energy industry is vital to the national economy; and it is a substantial safeguard to promote the continuous, rapid，healthy economical development and people’s living standards. Since the coming of the 11th 5-year, regional economic zones have been boosting rapidly. With the full development of the east, the central, and the west in virtuous interaction, a new zone – west bank of Taiwan Strait Economic Zone has caught people’s attention from home and abroad. Simultaneously, ministries, commissions and offices under the State Council are actively supporting the economic development of the west bank of Taiwan Strait. The economic zone on west bank of Taiwan Strait has been listed in the national 11th 5-year planning outline, which gives more prominence to the strategic role of this economic zone in the national layout of regional economic zones, which also means the economic zone of west bank of Taiwan Strait has become a key area with national strategic support.
The State Grid gives complete support to the Fujian 11th 5-year planning in electric power construction and electric interconnection with neighboring provinces, and also the State Grid prepares conditions for power projects and participation in regional power resource optimal deployment, so to ensure that the electric power in Fujian can be fully transmitted, connected, and utilized. In April, 2006, State Grid signed a contract with Fujian Provincial Government, which includes the arrangement of 55 billion RMB investments in construction and upgrade of power grids in Fujian to build strong and stable power grids on the best bank of Taiwan Strait. In the mean time the State Grid offers help to accelerate the process of readjusting energy structure to build a material-efficient, resource-saving, and environment-friendly society, and to develop a circular economy.
The commencement and construction of two large nuclear power stations in Fujian are important measures of supportive implementation from central government for economic development of west bank of Taiwan Strait, which are great achievements of comprehensive promotion of constructing the west bank of Taiwan Strait, which have great significance in implementing national energy policy, relieving transporting pressure of electric power and energy in south and east coastal areas, promoting the sustainable development of economy, society and environment in Fujian province. This exhibition will provide a platform to exhibit, exchange and trade for producers, retailers and purchasers, which will also provide high quality products, technology equipment and services for the nation’s economic construction.
